Beside the Lecia M6, this is my dream camera. Originally I was intimidated by the setup and modular design. I pride myself on being able to figure out how to use a 35mm camera without referring to the documentation but the Hasselblad is a very different beast. First there is the topdown viewfinder and then the dark slide, and the proper way to mount a lens without damaging the camera . After learning the Zone System, I realized the beauty of being able to change film back at any time due to lighting quality. I still remember the first time I look down the viewfinder and saw how bright and 3-D the images I see. There is no other camera system that gave me the same chill. The most recent purchase is the massive 250mm telephoto lens (silver). When mounted I feel like holding a weapon. My test rolls show beautiful results. I took the Hasselblad with the 50mm lens with me to Peru; I probably can get similar results with a Rolleiflex but I didn’t own a Rolleiflex in 2020. You are making a statement when hitting the shutter button with a loud thud. I can preload several 120 films in different backs so that I can keep shooting with minimum interruptions. I will probably be taking this beast to Hong Kong on my next trip to Hong Kong. Besides what is shown in the photo, I have other viewfinders, extra body, extra lens, extra film backs, Polaroid back, hand grip. The photographer that I most admire is Michael Kenna and he shoots exclusively with Hasselblad V-series cameras.
